WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Nicklaus Children’s Hospital at St. Mary's Medical Center (NCH) today announced that Kidz Medical Services, Inc., has taken over leadership for its pediatric intensive care unit (PICU).

Carbone, CEO at St. Mary’s Medical Center and Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, said. “We are continuing our commitment toward growing Nicklaus Children’s Hospital and building a healthier community.”

Kidz Medical Services, Inc. is a well-established pediatric group, under the direction of Albert Tano, MD, and Jorge Perez, MD, has been providing pediatric critical care, pediatric emergency, pediatric hospitalist, and neonatology services in Miami-Dade and Palm Beach counties for more than a decade. Kidz Medical currently provides services to 10 other hospitals in South Florida. Their physicians have become known for their commitment to providing exceptional care to patients, and for their willingness to work in conjunction with other healthcare providers, making the group a nice fit at NCH.

The following pediatric intensivists will be providing care at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital PICU under the new arrangement:  Maria Alva, MD; Jose Diaz, MD;  Luis Eguiguren, MD;  and Steven Schultz, MD.
