St. Mary’s Medical Center was recently presented with two top awards by the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACRN) at the group’s 17th Annual Palm Beach County luncheon.  The Gold award went to St. Mary’s for having the best Critical Care Unit among the county’s 17 hospitals.  In addition, the hospital received top accolades for having the best Critical Care Nurse Leaders in Palm Beach County.

Members of the St. Mary’s nurse leadership team include:  Connie Rigg, RN;  Joan Kilcullen, RN;  John Keating, RN;  and Mary Alent, RN. More than 200 people were on hand to see Mary Fran Tracy, the CCRN National President, present the medical center’s awards. One of St. Mary’s ICU nurses, Karen Conover, R.N., serves as the current president of the AACRN Palm Beach  chapter.

“These are wonderful and outstanding honors for our nursing staff,” Joey Bulfin, Chief Nursing Officer at St. Mary’s Medical Center, said.  “Being a critical care nurse requires the technical expertise to administer the proper medical care, the kindness to deliver compassionate care.”
