   Institute for Mental Health at St. Mary's Medical Center

The mission of the Institute for Mental Health is to improve the mental health of those we serve by providing effective and progressive treatment.   

The Institute for Mental Health at St. Mary's Medical Center offers a range of treatment approaches, all geared to the needs of children, adolescents and adults who are attempting to cope with: 

  • Depression 
  • Loss and Grief 
  • Anxiety, Panic 
  • Alcohol/Drug Abuse 
  • Trauma Recovery 
  • Relationship Issues
  • Family Conflict 
  • School/Work Problems 
  • Behavioral Problems

Assessment and Admission    Our services include 24-hour, seven-day- a- week assessments, referrals and admissions. Confidential interviews with a mental health professional are conducted to determine what treatment is required. Most insurances are accepted. 

 Adult Inpatient Psychiatric     Patients stay in comfortable, private or semi-private rooms and have access to attractive, secure indoor and outdoor areas for exercise, occupational and activity therapies. 

Comprehensive treatment is designed to address the psychological, emotional, spiritual, social and physical needs of each patient.  Treatment is multidisciplinary in scope and individualized in approach. 

 Dual Diagnosis Track     Dual Diagnosis treatment is designed for individuals who are suffering from psychiatric disorders complicated by alcohol and substance abuse. The goal of Dual Diagnosis treatment is to treat the psychiatric problems and help achieve abstinence through an intensive, integrated program of individual, group, and family therapy, as well as activity therapy and aftercare.  Our Dual Diagnosis Track incorporates medically supervised detoxification when necessary. 

Adult Program   - a multi-disciplinary treatment program designed to stabilize psychiatric illness and/or chemical dependency in an effort to prevent in-patient hospitalization or to aid in the transition to outpatient care. 

The Institute for Mental Health at St. Mary's Medical Center is JCAHO accredited, Medicare and Medicaid approved and licensed b the State of Florida. 

The Institute for Mental Health at St. Mary's Medical Center participates in many HMO and PPO insurances.
