St. Mary Medical Center is “expecting” and we’re proud to announce it’s a….new computer documentation system!
Being installed this summer is the CliniComp Essentris Perinatal, a robust electronic record which supports evaluation and documentation of findings throughout the labor process. We’re equipping our caregivers with this powerful computer tool to enhance the safety and quality of care for mothers and infants. St. Mary’s Medical Center considers excellence in the delivery of maternal/child care a major responsibility and we are proudly doing our part by being the first of the Tenet Healthcare System hospitals to participate in the Perinatal Standardization Project.
Essentris will replace paper documentation with advanced automation in Labor and Delivery assessment by electronically documenting and monitoring all events affecting the expectant mother and child from admission to the birth of a baby. The result is a new level of safety with improved outcomes and efficiencies.
One of the ways we meet our goal of providing the very best obstetrical care for our community is by enhancing the clinical experience for our clinicans. We’ve taken the extra step of involving Perinatal Subject Matter Experts to evaluate current best practices and incorporate the most current information in our documentation. The Tenet standard, Essentris Perinatal, includes information from the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses position papers and national standards of care practices from the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), to name a few.
St. Mary’s Medical Center is demonstrating the latest in healthcare technology while ensuring mothers and babies continue to receive the individualized and expert care you have come to expect.
