SMMC Names New Director of Womens Services

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Elizabeth Hawn, BSN, RNC, CNA-BC, has been named director of women’s services at St. Mary’s Medical Center, announced CEO Davide M. Carbone.   

As director, Hawn will be responsible for managing the hospital’s 68-bed obstetrics services, including maternity and newborn care.

Hawn has 30 years of experience in nursing, including more than 25 years in nursing management.  Most recently, she served for 23 years as the intensive care nursery/pediatrics/mother-baby nurse manager for Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center in Camden, N.J.  Her responsibilities included budget management, capital planning, resource management and utilization of a 25-bed regional intensive care nursery, 32 bed mother-baby unit and a nine-bed pediatric unit.  She concurrently served as a triage nurse at Children’s Health Associates in Voorhees, N.J., beginning in 2003.

Hawn is a member of the National Association of Neonatal Nurses, the Delaware Valley Association of Neonatal Nurses, and the Society of Pediatric Nurses, among others.  She also has been certified in nursing administration by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, in neonatal intensive care by the National Certification Corporation, as a Neonatal Resuscitation Program Provider by the American Heart Association and as a Basic Life Support Instructor by the American Heart Association.
