West Palm Beach, Florida (June 26, 2009) – St. Mary’s Medical Center has announced that Herman W. Brice has been appointed to the Board of Governors at the hospital.
Brice currently works for Palm Beach County Fire Rescue as a Fire Rescue Administrator. He has been awarded the Florida Fire Chief of the Year twice, and he has spent 56 years in the fire service, including 31 years as Fire Chief. His background also includes serving as president of Florida Fire Chiefs Association and on the board of directors of National Institute of Building Sciences.
Among his many accomplishments, Brice has been a chair of the National Fire Protection Association Board of Directors, chair of the Metropolitan Fire Chiefs, member of the Florida Firefighter’s Standards Council and a member of the evaluation panel for the National Bureau of Standards, Center for Fire Research.
Brice resides in West Palm Beach.
