West Palm Beach, Florida (June 25, 2009) -- St. Mary’s Medical Center ER Paramedic, Kirk Durham, was recently named EMS Provider of the Year for the city of Riviera Beach. Durham was selected for the award based on his emotional control and superior leadership skills during tense situations.
“Kirk and our entire team of EMTs are critical assets to our community and St. Mary’s Medical Center,” said Joey Bulfin, Chief Nursing Officer at St. Mary's. "This honor is a true testament to individuals like Kirk who give 110 percent and provide outstanding care to the residents of Palm Beach County, and we want to commend him for his dedication.”
Durham works as a Firefighter/Paramedic for the Riviera Beach Fire Rescue. He also works part-time as a paramedic in St. Mary’s Adult Emergency Department.
Additionally, Durham was nominated for the 2009 Distinguished EMS Service Award by the Division Chief of EMS.
