St. Mary's Medical Center offers a prenatal breastfeeding class once each month. Registered nurses who are board certified lactation consultants teach the class which is designed to provide expectant parents with information about breastfeeding.
Topics include:
- Benefits of breastfeeding
- How breast milk is made
- How to breastfeed
- What to expect from the baby
- Avoiding/overcoming problems
- Pumping, going back to work
- Question and answer session
