Philosophy: Rehabilitation is a dynamic process that focuses on the individual's participatory decision-making within the healthcare professional team. It is this interchange which enhances the actualization of a person's full potential and which is facilitated by family, significant others, or the community. The major goal is to enable an individual to achieve his/her highest level of function. The total process is one of change, which takes place over time. To promote and facilitate this process the health care professionals assist the individual to develop and maintain a focus on positive attributes and progress. The interdisciplinary team approach is central to this process and involves a high degree of expertise, cooperation and coordination from the members of the team in conjunction with the resource available to the individual.
