St. Mary’s Medical Center Welcomes New Governing Board Chair & Member

West Palm Beach, Fla. (June 17, 2015) — St. Mary’s Medical Center appoints Denise Marie Nieman, County Attorney, as the hospital’s new governing board chair, and Dr. Lynda Bideau, pediatrician, as a new member. The board is responsible for monitoring and evaluating the quality and safety of care at St. Mary’s.

“We are pleased to add these two distinguished community representatives to our governing board,” said CEO Davide Carbone. “With their diverse backgrounds, I am confident that Denise and Dr. Bideau will serve as valuable resources in fulfilling our mission to provide the highest standards of care.”

Nieman started with the County Attorney’s Office nearly three decades ago, and in 1996, was appointed to the position of County Attorney.  She served on the 15th Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission and on the Federal Magistrate reappointment panel for the Southern District.

Among her many accomplishments, Nieman is active in various professional organizations, including the Florida Association of County Attorneys. Her community involvement includes membership in the United Way Leadership Circle and past president of the Board of Directors for SunFest of Palm Beach County.

Nieman received her Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, followed by her Juris Doctorate from the Shepard Broad Law Center at Nova Southeastern University in Davie.

Dr. Bideau is a general pediatric physician on the medical staff at St. Mary’s with over 29 years of medical expertise. She is a member of several prestigious medical associations including the Palm Beach Pediatric Society, Palm Beach Medical Society, Florida Medical Society and American Academy of Pediatrics. She is also a Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners.

Dr. Bideau received her Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. She completed her internship and residency in pediatrics at Hahnemann University Hospital, also in Philadelphia.
