Tenet Healthcare Participates in the Fight Against Heart Disease

Sep 25, 2015

Palm Beach County, Fla. (September 25, 2015) — Tenet hospitals (Delray Medical Center, Good Samaritan Medical Center, Palm Beach Children’s Hospital, Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center, St. Mary’s Medical Center and West Boca Medical Center) demonstrate their commitment to the heart health of Palm Beach County by sponsoring the 2015 Heart Walk for the 7th time.

The event, which will take place on Sept. 26 at the Meyer Amphitheatre in Downtown West Palm Beach, is organized by the American Heart Association in an effort to raise funds and promote heart-healthy living. Hosted annually, the Heart Walk celebrates the progress made thus far in the fight against the country’s No. 1 and No. 5 killers, heart disease and stroke.

"Our hospitals offer high quality cardiac and stroke services right here in our local communities, and every day, we see how critical it is to give fast, accurate diagnoses," said Marsha Powers, CEO of Tenet Healthcare’s Florida Region. "We encourage everyone in Palm Beach County to join us at the Heart Walk to show their support of this important cause."

Those who take part in the event are choosing to take a stand against heart disease and help save lives. The money raised by the hospitals and other participants will be used to help fund programs and life-saving research on topics such as heart disease and pediatric heart defects.

The six Tenet hospitals sponsoring the 2015 Heart Walk are part of the Tenet Florida Heart & Vascular Network. In addition to offering a comprehensive network of potentially life-saving services, the hospitals provide regular heart health and stroke screenings to the community in convenient locations throughout Palm Beach County.
