The Brain Injury Specialty Care Center at St. Mary’s Medical Center is dedicated to providing comprehensive acute inpatient rehabilitation services to help patients and families heal after experiencing a brain injury. Our highly specialized and experienced health care team works closely to coordinate each patient’s care, using some of the most advanced treatments and technologies, to help patients reach their highest potential.

Our Comprehensive Approach

Brain Injury Program gym, patient room and dining roomOur specially-trained team, led by a physiatrist who is board-certified in both physical medicine and rehabilitation, and brain injury medicine, provides, specialized care to treat the medical, physical, cognitive and emotional deficits of a life-altering brain injury or illness. The Brain Injury Specialty Care Center is a hospital-based unit with immediate access to hospital physicians and services.

  • Rehabilitation nursing with low nurse to patient ratio
  • Physical, occupational and speech therapy

  • Neuropsychology
  • Support groups and resources for continued recovery
  • Education for patients, families and caregivers
